Day 01: Airport / Negombo
Upon arrival you will be greeted by our Travel Lanka Connection representative. Transferred to the hotel. En route visit Fishing village in Negombo, Negombo, located on the west coast of Sri Lanka, is a peaceful coastal town with adorable white sandy beaches and turquoise water stretches. Negombo is one of the biggest open-air fishing village and markets in the country. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Negombo / Dambulla
After Breakfast proceed to Dambulla ,enroute visit the coconut plantation and get experience in coconut production. Check into the hotel. Evening visit to Sigiriya Rock.
Sigiriya: This UNESCO World Heritage Site, a spectacular Rock Fortress, is one of Sri Lanka’s major attractions. The most impressive facets of the unique complex are the Water Gardens, the Frescoes of beautiful maidens, the Mirror Wall with ancient graffiti, the Lion platform and the Summit of 1.6 hectares, which was completely covered by buildings during the period of Sigiriya’s glory. Built by King Kashyapa (477-495 A.D), the “Lion Rock” is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200m from the scrub jungle. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Dambulla
After breakfast proceed for Rural Village experience.
Village Trek: This Village trek will include a bullock cart ride, a catamaran ride and a tuk tuk ride (Tuk-Tuks which is a common word us ed in Sri Lanka for a Three-Wheeler ride which is a famous mode of transport in Sri Lanka). Also once you are in the Village you will be able to interact with the villages to get the experience of the typical villager’s life, and you will also get a chance to make and taste a wonderful Sri Lankan meal.
Day 04: Dambulla / Kandy
After Breakfast visit the a school in the village, Dambulla Vegetable Market (this market is the central location for supplying the vegetable to North / East /west and the Southern province can see the exchange of the different vegetable for different province and visit Dambulla Cave Temple.
Dambulla: Located in the north central province this UNESCO World Heritage Site which dates back to the 01st century BC, is an amazing complex of 05 caves, first used as a refuge by an ancient king who on regaining his throne, commissioned magnificent carved images within the living rock, Later kings made further improvements and the caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is a colossal figure spanning 15 meters.
Cave inscriptions from the 2nd Century BC are found and on the walls are many paintings most of which belong to the Kandy period (early 19th century). This temple is a perfect location to view evolution of ancient Sri Lankan art and is an important historical site due to the amalgamation of the material from many eras.
Proceed to Kandy Enroute visit Matale, visit a spice garden where you will witness many spices and herbs in Sri Lanka, (Distance from Dambulla to Matale – 66KMs – Approx. 1 ½ Hours)
Spice Garden: The Island had been famous for its spices since the medieval times and is considered as one of the main reasons for the Europeans to conquer the Island and for the Arabs to trade upon from the 14th century onwards. The most interesting feature would be the opportunity you’ll get to identify the real plants of spices you are so familiar with in your day to day life. A qualified guide will do a conducted tour of the garden and a presentation of its products.
Enjoy a special head and shoulder massage at the spice garden, Complimentary Lunch at the spice garden. Transfer to Kandy, conduct a sightseeing tour of Kandy. Visit a Batik Factory and drive through the local Market including a visit to the Kandy “ Tooth Relic Temple’’
Kandy: A lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which retains an aura of grandeur, time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Royal Botanical gardens – home to one of the world’s best collections of Orchids.
A cultural sanctuary where many legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive, Kandy and its satellite villages are the centre of the islands handicraft industry (items of wood, brass & silver) exquisite silver or gold jewellery and precious gems of many varieties including the world’s best blue and star sapphires. The highlight of the city’s calendar is the Esala Perahera, when a replica of the casket enclosing the Tooth is taken in procession for ten glittering nights in July/August by exotically costumed dancers, drummers and approximately 100 Elephants. Evening visit Cultural Dance in Kandy. Dinner & Overnight stay in Hotel, Kandy
Day 05: Kandy / Peradeniya / Kandy
Morning breakfast at the Hotel visit the Gem Museum , Royal Botanical Gardens and pay a Visit to Lankathilanka and Gadaladeniya. The history of the temple goes back to the 14th century. According to historical reports this temple was built by King Bhuvanekabahu IV, who reigned from 1341 to 1351 A. D. He entrusted the construction of this temple to his Chief Minister named Senalankadhikara, who successfully finished the works of this temple.
The architecture of the temple was designed by a South Indian architect named Sathapati Rayar.According to the Professor Senarath Paranavithana, Sathapati Rayar designed this temple using Tamil Pandya sculptors brought from Tamil Nadu in Hindu style.. in 13th century AD. Polonnaruwa era and also with other Dravidian and Indo Chinese architectural patterns.
Also visit the “Guru’s (Master’s) House where you can learn the process of wearing the cultural dancing dress, and the Lesson of the Cultural dance. Evening visit Kandy town and walking around the lake. Return to the hotel, overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Kandy / Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya en route visit the Tea Factory and Tea Plantation in Ramboda and see the Ramboda Water Falls.
Nuwara Eliya: Sri Lanka’s premier hill resort with a fine bracing mountain climate, Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, producing some of the world’s best tea. The mountain slopes and valleys are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls. Red or green roofed plantation bungalows, English country style homes and hotels with lovely flower gardens, a fine 18 hole golf course and a racecourse gives Nuwara Eliya a decidedly British character.
Visit 09 Hole Golf Course ,Balle Bazzar ,British Post office and World famous Grand Hotel. Check in to the hotel and evening proceed to the city of Nuwara Eliya
Day 07: Nuwara Eliya / Yala
After a fresh breakfast proceed to Yala, you may take the train ride from Nanuoya to Ella , which is a panoramic view in Sri Lanka, you will definitely enjoy the ride. Get down at Ella Railway Station , your driver will wait for you to pickup. Proceed to Yala and check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 08: Yala / Koggala or Bentota
After early breakfast drive into the Yala National park for get the wild experience by 4×4 safari jeep and proceed to Galle.
Yala: Yala National Park is a huge area of forest, grassland and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. It’s home to wildlife such as leopards, elephants and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species. Inland, Sithulpawwa is an ancient Buddhist monastery. Nearby caves contain centuries-old rock paintings. Southwest, Magul Maha Viharaya also has ancient Buddhist ruins. Both are pilgrimage sites. Evening enjoy the sun set at the Galle Fort and experience the galle fort area. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09: Bentota / Airport or Beach Extension
Moring Breakfast at the Hotel, proceed to the airport, You need to be at the airport before 03 hrs of the departure flight.
