Day 1: Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by you driver guide and be transferred to your hotel for check in and remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha
Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you’ll travel towards Kenya’s fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. Proceed to Lake Naivasha, arriving at the Lodge in time for lunch.
Afternoon boat ride at Lake Naivasha that takes you to Crescent Island for a walking safari. This is one of the few places in the world where one can wander on foot amidst wild animals’ there are no predators.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara National Park
Depart Naivasha after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You’ll pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the Valley to Narok, and then travel across acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Maasai Mara and your camp in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon game drive.
Day 4: Maasai Mara National Reserve
Early morning tea/coffee at the camp then enjoy morning game drive and return to the camp for breakfast. Relax at the camp until 4 o’clock when you embark for an afternoon game drive.
Maasai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions particularly the superb black maned males.
Day 5: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru
Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffes and gazelle as you head up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru. The waters here were often coloured shimmering flamingo pink, from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. After lunch at Lake Nakuru sopa Lodge, depart for an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National Park before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi
After breakfast you will enjoy a half day game drive in Lake Nakuru N.P. and feast your eyes with sightings of flamingos, often referred to as the “Pink Lake”. Other animals that can be sighted in the park include the Rothschild’s Giraffe, Black and White Rhino, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Baboon and several other species of plains game. After lunch we will proceed to Nairobi and arrive back at around 5pm where you can be dropped off at your hotel.
Day 7: Amboseli
After breakfast at your hotel, your Safari guide will be at the hotel to pick you up and continue with your drive to Amboseli National Park.
Expect to see large herds of the African Elephant as Amboseli is their native home. You may also encounter lions, Buffalo and many playful game. Sights of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro are also possible on a clear evening.
Day 8: Amboseli
Full day in the Park. Early morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli National Park. Magnificent views of snow-capped Kilimanjaro are dominant. The best time to see it, however, is early morning or just around sunset. This is Africa’s highest mountain – some call it “the rooftop of Africa”. Game drives with all meals
and overnight at the Camp/Lodge on a full board basis.
Day 9: Amboseli National Park – Nairobi
Following an early breakfast, you’ll catch your last views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as you depart Amboseli viewing game en route to the border of the park. Arrive Kenya’s bustling capital city of Nairobi by early mid day. On arrival, lunch at the carnivore restaurant later drops off at the airport for your departure
flight.
