Day 1: La Habana Airport / La Habana City
Arrival in Havana. Welcome by the Havanatur representative. Meeting with our representative. Transfer and accommodation at the booked accommodation. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 2: La Habana
Breakfast. Departure for the 3-hour panoramic City Tour in a vintage American car, which remained on the island after the 1959 revolution, are part of the Cuban landscape, all very colorful and with a unique charm. Walking tour of the historic center: includes a visit to the Bodeguita del Medio with a cocktail included, an external visit to the Museo de los Capitanes Generales. External visit to the Castillo del Morro and the Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña, located at the entrance to the port. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the accommodation for the overnight stay. Free evening.
Day 3: La Habana / Pinar Del Rio / Viñales / La Habana
Breakfast. Departure for Pinar del Rio. Arrival at “Finca la Guabina”, one of the most exclusive horse farms in Cuba, famous for its “Pinto” stallions, the area is surrounded by mountains, valleys and a lagoon. Cocktail tasting and lunch at a local restaurant. Departure for Viñales; stop at the Mirador de Los Jazmines, a panoramic point to admire the valley. Panoramic view across the Viñales Valley and entrance to the amazing Mural de la Prehistoria, located on the natural wall of Mogote Pita, in the Sierra de los Órganos; it was created from a drawing by the artist Leovigildo González Morillo with the aim of representing the evolutionary process of life from his point of view.
The mural is 120 m long and is the largest open-air painting in the world. Visit to the Cueva del Indio, considered one of the wonders of UNESCO, it is a cave formed by solid limestone formations, with galleries that bear the names of famous people; It is visited partly on foot and partly by going up the underground river by boat. Return to Havana. Overnight stay.
Day 4: La Habana / Guama / Cienfuegos
Breakfast and departure for Boca de Guamà, the most important swamp in Cuba and the entire Caribbean. Arrival and departure for the boat trip through the canals and mangroves of Laguna del Tesoro towards the village of Aldea Taina; it is a reconstruction of a Taino village, recreated by the famous Cuban sculptor Rita Longa, with a series of 25 life-size sculptures of Taino Indians that show us the indigenous lifestyle. Visit to the “Criadero de Cocodrilos”, a crocodile farm where you can observe more than 4,000 specimens; you will be taken through all the phases of the breeding program managed to give them a better quality of life. Lunch at Finca Fiesta Campesina.
After lunch, continuation to Cienfuegos, located in a bay dominated by the Castillo de Jagua (1742), is one of the most important cities in Cuba, especially for trade; its beauty is extraordinary and also for this reason the Cubans call it “Pearl of the South”. Day 5: Cienfuegos / Trinidad
After breakfast, departure for Trinidad, one of the first cities founded by the Spanish in the 16th century and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. Arrival and visit to the Cantero Palace to learn about the history of Trinidad through documents, works of art and many other objects. Stop at the “La Canchanchara” Bar to taste the typical cocktail of the area considered the oldest in Cuba, based on rum, lime, honey, water and ice and served in a clay cup. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue to the Valle de los Ingenios (sugar cane growing area) and visit to the Manaca Iznaga Tower. After the visit, continue to Trinidad. Day 6: Trinidad / Santa Clara / Remedios
After breakfast, transfer to Santa Clara, known as the “Liberal City” for its independence struggles and the Cuban Revolution that gave it the historical and cultural importance needed to understand Cuba. Arrival and walking city tour with a panoramic visit to the imposing Mausoleum dedicated to Ernesto Che Guevara (closed on Mondays), where the members of his commando and Che Guevara himself are buried, and to the Museo del Tren Blindado, with the authentic train taken by the rebels during the Cuban Revolution in December 1958. Lunch in a local restaurant.
After lunch, continue to Remedios, one of the most authentic colonial cities in the country. Arrival and visit to the historic center of the city where you can admire the baroque Church of San Juan Bautista which houses statues of considerable artistic value. Accommodation and overnight stay in Remedios (or Santa Clara).
Day 7: Remedios / La Habana
After breakfast, departure for Havana; stop for lunch on the way. Arrival and accommodation at the booked accommodation. Overnight stay.
Day 8: La Habana City / La Habana Airport
Breakfast (check-out at 12:00). Free time until the transfer to the airport in Havana to take the intercontinental flight.
