Day 1: Arrival
Arrival in Tallinn. Check in at the hotel. Depending on the arrival time possible the first
acquaintance with Tallinn on your own.
Day 2: Tallinn
After breakfast a combined driving and walking tour. Tour covers the most important sights of the city: Pirita sailing center, Kadriorg Park with the 18th century baroque palace, and the residence of the Estonian President nowadays, Song Festival Grounds.
A walking part of the tour in the Old Town introduces the building of the Parliament of Estonia, Dome Church (13th century), Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky (19th century), magnificent view of the town from a viewing platform, Toompea Castle, St.Olaf’s Church, narrow streets of the Down Town and Town Hall Square (15th century). In the afternoon free time for Christmas Market visit (in December) or further excursion such as;
- Tallinn archaic: Excursion to the Ethnographic Open Air Museum Rocca al Mare (6 km from the city center). Museum presents a collection of village architecture from the 17th-18th centuries. Explore buildings, farm houses, windmill, chapel and a sauna, that are grouped in a village where one can discover the life of Estonian peasants.
- Tallinn cultural: Possible to visit one of the cultural events in Tallinn (concert, opera, ballet).
- Tallinn culinary: Dinner at a restaurant in the medieval Old Town of Tallinn.
Day 3: Trip to Lahemaa National Park
After breakfast drive to Lahemaa – one of the most marketed and well-known nature tourism destinations in Estonia. Lahemaa – the largest park in Estonia, covering a vast area shrouded by thick forest, rugged coastline, meadows, swamps, lakes and waterfalls. You will have opportunity to admire the beautiful coastline and feel the peaceful life of the rural countryside. In the Lahemaa National Park situated on the Northern coast of the country you will see the old fishing villages opening up in their simple peasant charm, keeping alive a traditional lifestyle. Well-restored typical Baltic manorial estates, dating from 18th and 19th centuries give you an overview of the life of aristocracy. We will visit Palmse Manor house and take a lovely walk in Sagadi Manor park, both of them offering enchanting gardens. Return to Tallinn.
Day 4: Tallinn – Sigulda
In the morning a drive to Riga. En route stop in Tartu, Estonia “Students Capital”. Further drive to Sigulda.
Day 5: Sigulda – Riga
Walk in Gauja National Park, including visit to Turaida Castle and the ruins of the 13th century Crusader Castle in Sigulda.
Later trip to Riga. A combined driving and walking tour encompasses the most significant sights of Riga: driving along the central boulevards of Riga, enjoying the view of the City Canal Parks, the Bastion Hill, the Powder Tower, the Latvian National Theatre, the Fine Arts Museum, the Art Nouveau Buildings of the beginning of the 20th century, the Freedom Monument, University of Latvia, Latvian National Opera House and the Daugava River.
During the walking part of the tour you will enjoy the beauty of the ancient Hanseatic City: picturesque streets of the Old Town, the Dome Cathedral, the Church of St.Peter, the old Guild Houses, the Swedish Gate, St.Jacob’s Church, the Parliament House, Old Riga Castle. The afternoon you can spend enjoying mulled wine at one of numerous Christmas Market stalls.
Day 6: Riga
Enjoy this day to explore Riga on your own.
Day 7: Departure
Breakfast. End of the tour.
