Day 1 – 06 September: Arrival in Osaka
Arrive in Osaka and check into your hotel.
Day 2 – 07 September: Osaka Exploration
Spend the morning at your own leisure exploring the lively Dotonbori area, Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade, and Kuromon Ichiba Market. Then explore Osaka Castle and visit Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, the Umeda Sky Building, and optionally explore the Tennoji area.
Day 3 – 08 September: Free Day Osaka
Spend the day sightseeing or you may consider going to Universal Studios. Arrive early to enjoy major attractions like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Minion Park, and Jurassic Park. Return to the hotel in the evening for rest.
Day 4 – 09 September: Travel to Hiroshima & Peace Memorial Visit
Check out and take the Shinkansen to Hiroshima (approx. 2 hrs). In the afternoon, visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Atomic Bomb Dome, and Peace Memorial Museum. If time allows, visit Shukkeien Garden or Hiroshima Castle.
Day 5 – 10 September: Miyajima Island & Travel to Kyoto
Take the morning ferry to Miyajima Island to visit Itsukushima Shrine and explore Mount Misen via ropeway. Return by noon and travel to Kyoto (approx. 2hrs). Check into your hotel in Kyoto for a 3-night stay.
Day 6 – 11 September: Kyoto Sightseeing & Tea Ceremony
Start early at Fushimi Inari Taisha to walk through the famous red torii gates before the crowds.
Then continue to Nara and explore Nara Park, known for its free-roaming deer. Visit Tōdai-ji to see the giant Buddha and walk through the historic park area.
Return to Kyoto in the afternoon and experience a traditional tea ceremony in the historic districts of Gion or Higashiyama, where you can learn about Japanese tea culture and rituals.
Day 7 – 12th September: Uji Day Trip & Kyoto Sightseeing
Start in Uji, famous for matcha and traditional atmosphere. Visit Byōdō-in, one of Japan’s most beautiful temples, then walk through the tea streets and enjoy local matcha desserts.
Continue to Fushimi Inari Taisha to walk through the famous red torii gates.
Then head into central Kyoto and visit Kiyomizu-dera with views across the city and stroll through the historic Higashiyama streets.
Finish the afternoon and evening in Gion, Kyoto’s traditional district with wooden streets, shops and evening atmosphere.
Day 8 – 13th September: Travel to Tokyo
In the morning, travel to Tokyo by train. Check into your Tokyo hotel for a 6-night stay.
Day 9/10/11/12/13 – 14th to 18th September: Tokyo Highlights
Start with Tokyo city highlights — explore Senso-ji in Asakusa, walk through Shibuya Crossing, enjoy views from Tokyo Skytree, visit Meiji Shrine, and spend time in Shinjuku and Ginza.
Take a day trip to Hakone for mountain scenery and hot springs. Cruise on Lake Ashi, ride the Hakone Ropeway, and on clear days enjoy views of Mount Fuji.
You may also consider visiting Nagano for a quieter day with Zenkō-ji, traditional atmosphere and mountain scenery (and in winter, possible snow monkey visits).
Day 14 – 19th September: Departure from Tokyo
Depending on your flight time, enjoy some final shopping or relax at a local café.
