Day 1: 3rd Sept – Welcome to Costa Rica & San José Stay
Welcome to Costa Rica! Arrival at Juan Santamaría Airport. Private Transfer from SJO Airport to San José. One of our representatives will meet you at SJO Airport and take you directly to your hotel in San José, the capital of Costa Rica known for its culture, history, gastronomy, architecture, and natural beauty.

Day 2: 04th Sept – Journey to Tortuguero Rainforest

Transfer from San José to Guápiles. Pick up at your hotel. Early in the morning the expedition begins towards the plains of the North Caribbean, home to Tortuguero National Park—one of Costa Rica’s most exuberant parks with tropical forests, vast vegetation, and abundant wildlife.
Boat Transfer from Guápiles to Tortuguero:
Board a boat and travel through rainforest canals. Check in at your hotel and enjoy lunch.

Day 3: 05th Sept – Exploring the Tortuguero Canals

Tortuguero Canals Tour
Known as the “Amazon of Costa Rica,” Tortuguero features canals, lagoons, and rivers home to green turtles, manatees, jaguars, monkeys, and over 300 bird species. Ecosystems include rainforests, beaches, mangroves, and wetlands.

Day 4: 06th Sept – From Jungle to Puerto Viejo

Boat Transfer from Tortuguero to Guápiles.
Today we will wait for you in the hotel lobby and take you to Puerto Viejo, known for its beautiful Caribbean beaches, ideal for surfing and ecotourism, its vibrant Afro-Caribbean culture, and its proximity to Cahuita National Park and Manzanillo, which offer biodiversity and outdoor activities.

Day 5: 07th Sept – Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge Tour

Day 6: 08th Sept – Transfer to Arenal Volcano

Today your transfer will pick you up at your hotel lobby and take you to the incredible Arenal area, known worldwide for the incredible Arenal Volcano, its beautiful lake, the exotic and lush forest that surrounds it, its hot springs and its incredible offer of nature and adventure.

Day 7: 09th Sept – Arenal Hanging Bridges
Meals included: Breakfast
The guided hike on the Arenal Hanging Bridges takes place in a 600-acre (243-hectare) reserve filled with lush vegetation and a variety of fauna. The trail is 2 miles (3 km) long, crossing 10 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges with lengths between 16 and 328 feet (5 to 100 meters) and up to 180 feet (55 meters) in height, allowing the exploration of the different levels of the forest (understory, subcanopy and canopy) and offering the opportunity to observe a greater number of species.

Day 8: 10th Sept – Shared Volcano & Waterfall Tour

The day will start with a hike up the stepped trail of high basaltic rock walls, taking about 15 minutes to reach the beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall, where you can swim or just take pictures and enjoy its beauty. Lunch is the next step, a delicious traditional meal will be waiting for you at our restaurant “La Finquita”. After lunch, you will have time to rest or hang out in town, before starting the hike to the volcano. We will choose one of several trails through the rainforest and cross paths of solidified lava. We will observe a variety of plants, animals and rock formations. At the top of the trail, we will have an incredible view of Lake Arenal. Our hike will end at a lookout point where you can see a small steam of pyroclastic gases emerging from fissures at the top of the volcano.

Day 9: 11th Sept – Transfer to Monteverde

Today one of our representatives will wait for you at the hotel lobby, and will take you directly to the incredible area of Monteverde, famous for ecotourism and its wonderful cloud forest.

Day 10: 12th Sept – Shared Coffee, Chocolate & Sugar Cane Tour

Don Juan Tours Monteverde is a family-run business that teaches visitors about the entire process behind three world-class products: coffee, chocolate, and sugarcane. On our tour, we’ll take you through the entire coffee process, from the seed to the delicious cup of coffee. Once the coffee tour is over, we’ll begin the sweetest part of the tour: delicious chocolate. Just like coffee, we’ll talk about
everything from the seed to the delicious chocolate bar, and we’ll conclude by selecting some members of the group to grind the cacao and make delicious chocolate.

Day 11: 13th Sept – Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve Tour

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is one of the most famous reserves in the world and important in Costa Rica due to conservation activities and scientific research. Founded in 1972 and with an area of 3,500 hectares, it has 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity. The geographical, topographic and climatic conditions of the Monteverde Reserve have favored the surprising biodiversity. In its forests we find four “Ecological Life Zones”, which give life to different ecosystems inhabited by hundreds of species of mammals, birds, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, insects and arachnids, as well as a great variety of plants such as mosses, epitaphs, lianas and common cloud forest trees.

Today we will pick you up in the lobby of your hotel and take you back to San José.
