Day 1 – 09 October
Arrived at Kota Kinabalu Airport meet and transfer to Hyatt Centric. Check in and unwind. Stay overnight at Hyatt Centric. [No meals]
Day 2 – 10 October
Pick up from Hyatt Centric and drive 2 hours overland to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 1500m above sea level. Have a short stop at Pekan Nabalu market to savor local fruits that are in season. Visit the Kinabalu Geopark Gallery and Mountain Garden in Kinabalu Park Headquarters. If the weather permits, take a guided walk on one of the trails in the cool surroundings to explore the montane forest. Return to Kota Kinabalu and overnight at Hyatt Centric. [Breakfast/Lunch]
Day 3 – 11 October
We proceed to watch a video show about the plight of the Orang Utans and the rehabilitation efforts ongoing at the Centre. Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 1000hrs, and then we continue to the newly completed enclosed nursery area for young orang utans. Thereafter, visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the conservation of the world’s smallest bear.
After lunch, transfer to Sandakan jetty for 21⁄2 hours boat journey to the multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah’s longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view birds and wildlife. Take an afternoon
river cruise in search of wildlife and birds using a boat with hybrid system of outboard and electric motor (depending on river current). Enjoy a scrumptious dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by slide presentation and interpretation by naturalist guide. Stay overnight at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge – Borneo Villa.

Day 4 – 12 October
Take a 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk with our in-house naturalist. After lunch, join our in-house Orang Utan Talk activity. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. Stay overnight at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge – Borneo Villa. [Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner]
Day 5 – 13 October
0630HRS – Check out early and proceed 2.5 hours overland to Lahad Datu where we’ll stopover for registration. Then continue to drive 83km to Borneo Rainforest Lodge which is surrounded by pristine virgin rainforests. In the evening a slide show and explore nature trail leading to canopy walkway. If weather permits, we go
spotlighting to view some of the nocturnal animals. Stay overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. [Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner]
Day 6 – 14 October
Spend the whole day exploring the forest for birds and mammals, leading up to an escarpment with ancient burial coffins. Trek to waterfall for a refreshing dip in rock pools. Return to lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, explore more trails. Stay overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. [Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner]
Day 7 – 15 October
Depart from Borneo Rainforest Lodge to Lahad Datu, and then proceed overland (Approximately 5 Hour drive) to Semporna Jetty. Arrived at Semporna Jetty by 1600Hrs and proceed for a 1-hour boat transfer to Mabul Island Resort. Overnight in Mabul Water Bungalow. [Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner]
Day 8 – 16 October
Diver: Followed by an orientation by the dive master and shore dives.
Day 9 – 17 October
Diver: Three boat dives per day and unlimited shore dives.
Day 10 – 18 October
Transfer to Semporna/Tawau for the flight to Sandakan/Kota Kinabalu/Kuala Lumpur. [Breakfast]
